The Xserve G5 comes to the rescue with all the power of the latest hardware and Mac OS X combined with hot-swap drives, RAID functionality and more - all in a rack-mountable 1U design. It fits standard 19-inch racks, so you can even install it among a farm of PC servers. It's configured with a 2.0GHz PowerPC G5 processor, a 512KB on-chip L2 cache, an 80GB SATA-150 hot-swap hard drive and 512MB PC3200 DDR SDRAM (expandable to 8GB). In addition to the 1.0GHz front bus speed, the Xserve also features a slot-loading CD-ROM drive and two additional bays for hot-pluggable Apple Drive Modules, fill all three bays with 250GB drives and you have 750GB of highly available storage. There are two open 64-bit, 133MHz PCI-X slots and two Gigabit Ethernet controllers built into the motherboard to handle your networking needs.
